Filomuro brings a hinged glass door flush with the wall. Its frame is concealed within the wall, leaving the glass and its aluminium edge visible around the opening. When closed, the door sits level with the surrounding surface, without a projecting surround. Full-height arrangements carry the glass up to the ceiling.

Construction

The door combines an aluminium structure with 5 mm toughened glass or 3+3 mm laminated glass, depending on the glass selected. Its concealed aluminium frame fits within masonry or plasterboard walls.

The toughened glass is heated to 650°C and cooled under controlled conditions, giving it five times the mechanical strength of ordinary glass. Laminated glass consists of two 3 mm sheets bonded around a transparent PVB film, which holds the fragments together if the glass breaks. In double-sided lacquered glass, the colour sits between the sheets, protected from scratches, dust and moisture.

Available as single and double doors.

Bertolotto specifies toughened glass to UNI EN 12150 and UNI EN 12600, and laminated glass to UNI EN 12600.

Decorative options

Sandblasted patterns are available to add a drawing to the glass surface.

Hinges and locks

Concealed hinges. Magnetic locks are available, including Yale cylinder options.

In India

Bertolotto doors supplied in India come with PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) treated handles as standard, providing greater resistance to scratches and corrosion. The handles carry a 30-year warranty, while the doors carry a five-year manufacturer’s warranty.
