Closely spaced grooves run through Millerighe’s solid oak surface layers. Their crisp, angular edges give the door a carved texture, with the grain of the oak still visible. The grooves continue across the surrounding frame, which sits level with the door when closed. Matching wall panelling can extend the same carved surface beyond the doorway.

Construction

A 50 mm-wide perimeter of responsibly sourced, FSC-certified solid fir from forests in northern Italy surrounds a honeycomb core made from 100% recycled Kraft paper. The faces use layers of solid oak with an internal balancing layer. All four edges are finished with oak veneer.

Made by
Bertolotto Porte, Italy

Bertolotto is an Italian door maker with an obsession for getting things right. Since 1987, the company has brought together people who care deeply about how a door is designed, made and finished. All materials and components are sourced in Italy. In the factory, precise machinery works alongside craftsmen who have spent decades perfecting their part of the process. They produce at scale, then refine the work by hand, with the same attention given to every door. That care goes into the design of each door, too. Working with artists and designers, Bertolotto explores new ideas for its shape, surface and place within a room, pushing beyond familiar expectations of what a door can be. This combination of imagination and care drew us to Bertolotto and led us to bring their doors to India.
